Jeffrey R. Klein began working with the firm following his admission to the California State Bar in 2010. After practicing primarily as a business litigator for the first ten years of his career, Jeffrey now focuses his practice predominately on intellectual property, technology licensing, entertainment, and general business affairs.

Mr. Klein received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Johns Hopkins University in 2006. He attended Southwestern Law School where his academic accomplishments were acknowledged by selection to the Dean’s List. He was recognized as the top student in the courses of Technology Licensing Agreements and Telecommunications Law and Policy, receiving CALI awards in both classes. In 2010, Mr. Klein received his Juris Doctor degree from Southwestern.

Mr. Klein is a member of the District of Columbia Bar and the State Bar of California. He is admitted to practice before all state courts in California, as well as the United States District Court for the Central District of California and the United States District Court for the Northern District of California.

Notable Federal & State Decisions

  • Brenda Elizabeth Gutierrez Bautista, et al. v. Beverly World Industries, Inc. dba California Market, et al. (2020): Successfully argued for summary judgment in favor of clients in case premised on alleged vicarious liability arising out of fatal motor vehicle accident. (Ruling on Summary Judgment)

  • Boviet Solar USA, Ltd. v. Melpro Corp. (2019): Prevailed in international arbitration proceeding, obtaining an Award in favor of client in the sum of $468,778.50, plus interest, in case involving consignment of solar panel modules in Puerto Rico. The Award included client’s costs and attorneys’ fees and was confirmed in the United States District Court for the Northern District of California. (Confirmation of Award | Judgment)

  • Rodrigo R De Llano, et al. v. Abecassis Enterprises, LLC, et al. (2015): Obtained, after an eight (8) day bench trial, a judgment in favor of clients in the principal sum of $893,000.00 in case involving breach of fiduciary duty in partnership commercial real estate investment. The judgment included the award of costs, attorneys’ fees, and interest, for a total judgment in the sum of $2.1 million as of the date of entry. (Amended Judgment)

  • Bank of America, N.A. v. Danny Lahave, et al., 2016 Cal. App. Unpub. LEXIS 2040 (2016): Affirmed. (Opinion)

  • Bank of America, N.A. v. Danny Lahave, et al., 2013 Cal.App. Unpub. LEXIS 2161 (2013): After substituting in as counsel in commercial guaranty action following trial on stipulated facts, assisted appellate counsel in obtaining reversal in Court of Appeal of judgment in the sum of $602,254.52; on remand, successfully obtained entry of judgment and award of attorneys’ fees and costs in the sum of $401,186.00.
